A secret life
In 1994 while working for Pinkerton Security I met Doug Fisher a former engineer with a Texas company that did tech work on NASA vehicles in the 1970s. He was hosting a party and I was the hired security guard.

For years Doug and some friends debated trying to develop a new kind of propulsion system. They even knew "Capt Nemo" types trying to build space ships here and there. You'd be amazed how many garage space ships there are! Not everyone just talks about it!

In 1995 they stumbled across a weird dude in Reno while on a gambling trip who claimed it was possible to bend light with magnetic superchargers and create limited thrust, about ten to fifteen million MPH at the most. He was Reno Bob T. A heroin addict and former Marine and NASA engineer who worked on Apollo. In '95 he was a security guard at Cal/Neva.
Bobby laid it out on paper and then weeks later showed up at Doug’s door in SF. He had notebooks and a lot of R&B records as well.

ATV American Transport Vehicle Inc was born over steaks at Original Joes!

In a building close to Food Mart on Tolland Street here in San Francisco, Fisher led a small group, mostly older Gay engineers and some younger software wizards in efforts to construct a new and different kind of star vehicle.
Everything that could went wrong. Staffs members were electrocuted, suffered burns, and created bizarre light flashes that almost blinded them. Everyone had diarrhea and constant headaches.
Everyone quit at least once a month and had regular fights, death threats, and battles over what design to use. My job from the first day was building security and making good coffee.
Trust me, we went through seven World Wars over design!
Medical bills just about sunk the project.

By 1998 they had a vehicle that looked much like a 1970s Dodge van. It weighed 15 tons and cracked the concrete floor and then sunk into the pavement by the street! $71,000 right there!
Crewmembers were constantly trying to get money. Bank Robbery was always an option, but we were cowardly and stayed with playing the lottery and pawning everything!
Thank God for Pacific Loan on 6th street!
In January of 1998 the mother of a crewmember left her daughter $190,000 that saved ATV. And ruined a woman's life.

In December 1999 they tried to get ATV Test 1 into space but it crashed into the water off Stinson Beach. Three crewmen were killed.
Peter C. Jimmy R. and Betty N. We Love you guys!

In June 2000 a second, better-built and stable ATV (American Transport Vehicle) was completed.
Fisher and four others went out, took their time and made it 470 miles up. They were in space twenty minutes.

The hard part was solar radiation. Everyone got sick and all suffered sores and internal bleeding. By July 2001 they were better and despite the hard lessons were determined to go into space again. No one ever fully recovered from the effects of inertia and heat from re-entry into the Earths atmosphere.

On October 21st 2001 with better protection, they put asbestos and Amerlix into the shields. They also had a kind of erratic gravity created from dense pack brine spinning at 400RPM in a super magnetic tube.
They went out 140,000 miles at 91,000MPH.
On re-entry the craft shifted three degrees and ended up in southern Mexico. It took three weeks to get back.
Trust me, Mexican police are crooks!

Over three months and five more flights they experienced every telemetry problem, massive instability and endless software problems. Re-entry stabilization was never fully developed and the heat problems never resolved. ATV Inc never figured a proper thruster device. Fuels were dangerous. Solid or liquid, troubles persisted. (Often thruster liquid fuels froze in space)
Jeanne C. and Steve D. Died from heat exposure. We love you guys!

They abandoned WIN98SE and retreated to WIN95 4.0 because it was a slower but stable program and easily modified.
They had secured GE gyroscopes and TI and sometimes Boeing software NASA stopped using years before. ATV became a ruthless software pirate. They did everything to steal NASA programs and most of what they got was worthless! NASA uses rockets and has a huge ground based system. ATV had one ship and UHF TV as ground based communication. We learned the dirty secret; NASA astronauts do next to nothing on their own. Houston runs the show!

Space has no here or there or up or down. Star readings are ineffective. Every flight was a new adventure and the constant struggle to keep on course was a cruel drain on everyone's nerves.
The crews were petrified of micro meteors smashing through. Weird solar flares were another dread.

On June 8th 2002 they went for broke and flew to the moon. While their Eddie R 62, the chief engineer and Fishers' Com. Ryker had a fatal heart attack.
Doug Fisher just about gave up. The project had succeeded in most ways. And all the survivors felt they had to go further than the moon. They had barely cracked a hundred thousand MPH.

And then Reno Bob T. suggested a reverse polarity in the second field supercharger. He proved right speed was greatly increased. A test flight in August 2002 reached 12.7 Million miles an hour. Inertia and heat was too much. They never reached that speed again. 1.4 Million MPH was the agreed limit.

Money was an endless problem because of endless medical bills. How do you tell a HMO you have radiation poisoning? The crew went to a Mexican doctor in the Mission. He had worked at Mass General and knew people.
The story of medical care for ATV is a movie right there!

Finally the number one problem for ATV Inc was not engineering or radiation but political paranoia; a deadly fear of GW Bush and the religious right. John Ashcroft was everyone's favorite bully. The crew had weird theories that Jerry Falwell was watching!

In hindsight I realize the paranoia was a coping method. Everyone wanted to go out into space, but death was always there, waiting.
9/11 only added to the crews dread.

Nothing happened until December 2003 just about 18 months later. In fact most of the crew drifted away.
Reno Bob T. died Sept 3d 2003. He went into space twice, never recovered from bacteria infections we think were enhanced by solar radiation.

In December 2003 Doug turned 65. He summoned the 12 survivors and they decided on a "Insane Quest" They would fly to Mars! Well, that had been the original idea! Doug was so Jealous of the Mars rovers.

On March 2d 2004 the original ATV 1 and ATV 2 a new but less developed star vehicle took off at 4AM.
They never made it to Mars.
Instead they came across a lit up gray and blue star ship 31 million miles out. The ATV Top speed was 871,000 MPH The Star Ship was cruising at 56.7 Million (A guess)_

They had been in-flight just about 38 hours. The five-member crew was exhausted and fighting over the decision to turn back. (I was not on board) They saw the ship (And were sure it was secret CIA), had collective diarrhea and scream fits. After they calmed down; a few beers, they sent a UHF radio message and just about died when they got a response.
Everyone was stunned, frightened, and thrilled.

We are not alone.

The Acklys are from Serial, a star system 29.9 Light Years from here. They call their star system "Calese" They call ours Tyn-Esta meaning "Place of Many Waters" Theirs is a blue world. Serial has three planets. No gas balls like Jupiter. The Acklys say they colonized Celese 700 of our years ago. They have been aware of us for 670 years.
Three members of the Ackly crew speak English. Why? Because they pirate our movies and TV; they tapped into our satellites years ago.
At no time did the Acklys board the ATV and the ATV crew never went aboard their Star Ship, a 600-foot Kellin Class vehicle. The ATV sat on an upper deck. All communication was by UHF TV and AM 810KHtz

The Acklys are black, humanoids. They have faces that are somewhat horse like. Brown eyes and talll active ears that move about. They speak in a guttural language that sounds something like old Chinese. They have a sense of humor and like sex jokes. They see in color and have dreams. Their females are in heat every spring. The males are in heat all the time.
The “Shuda Can” or First Officer “Neice Sarlace” explained that Acklys are greedy and love the fast chance. They hate rules and defy the tax police as a matter of pride. Sex crimes are big TV attractions and movies about rogue politicians getting away with serious exploits are the big deal. They hate serious books and dread being asked questions about what they have been doing.
They told us that politicians like GW Bush are common, “The bill payers hate liberals” And “The big companies are run by families who buy and sell politicians. Ralph Nader would be hung in a public square, branded a “Noise Maker”

They are an old species originally from a star system 300 or so light years away. They have no democracies but a "Business Administration" Freedom is earned by your talents and ability to "Get along" They flight crew was male but they have females at home. They have one race. The Acklys have marriage, divorce, radio, TV, movies, illegal drugs, crooked cops and venal HMO's. They love violent movies, porn, and good food that is full of fat. They love to masturbate but never talk about it. They like sports and have something like Soccer. They had a serious war about 70 years ago. They struggle to pay the bills. Ackly women run the home and control religions TV and radio. Men control the politics and sports and movies.

The Acklys told the crew humans are just like everyone else, corrupt, politics, angry religions, lots of wars and arguments about sex.
The Ackly "Pelfer" or Captain told the crew that Gay Acklys congregate in liberal cities along side the oceans. He also said few Acklys believe in evolution but prefer magic creation stories. Religion is a business; people never take it too serious.
The ATV crews chatted with the Acklys for all of 79 minutes and then it was over.

The Acklys say that after years of debate their science leaders sent three representatives who contacted the US and Russia by radio in May 1960. Two officers came to Blair House in Washington and met with a man identified as Donald Nixon and a woman Carol Bellamy. The meeting lasted an hour and twenty minutes. (Their space suits air filters last just two hours) They were warmly greeted and the conversations were polite and full of questions. Mr. Nixon mentioned America’s current race troubles. Mrs. Bellamy asked about Communism in space. (The Acklys did not name the Russian rep and they told the crew the three Russians were polite and asked about Nazi’s in space.)

The Acklys reported that there have been movies made about the visit. President Eisenhower and Soviet Party Boss Nikita Khrushchev both felt humanity was too "Callow" for the serious task of accepting extraterrestrials. Eisenhower sent a case of Coke and a collection of Jazz records to the Acklys as a gift from America. The Russians sent a case of Vodka and classical music albums.

These last few weeks have been a torment. Endless debates and genuine fear blended with awe and wonder.
The strain has taken its toll.
Doug Fisher died Monday April 26th surrounded by friends in his apartment on Sutter Street. A combination of radiation and a tired heart did him in.
Doug Fisher was a dear friend. He and Ted lived together 23 years.

No one gave me permission to reveal this. I am acting alone. I fear ending up in Camp Delta.
I have considered contacting the NY Times.

The two ATV's are in a building near Tolland Street. They will sit there a few years, until the lease ends or we go broke on rent.
I do hope that someday NASA gets the technology and the various videos.

Can you imagine GW Bush reading this, would he, could he believe it? I don't think so.
I love America, but lets face it, these are dark times.

The Acklys say there are just six known advanced civilizations in a 40,000 light-year circle. Much of the Koo-lon-stradta (Milky Way) is empty. There are millions of planets that have life, but not intelligent brings.
(By the way the Acklys say these abduction stories are bullshit. No creature would expose them selves to germs, viruses, or bacteria. They were offended by such talk and accused NASA of molesting Ackly women!)

The truth according to the Acklys: we evolved, It's the big bang, forget String Theory. There are others universes. Dark Matter is burned out hydrogen jelly. Gravity bends time, the fastest safe speed in 20.2 times speed of light. There are 6 dimensions not three. Acklys have souls and go to heaven if they vote properly. Acklys love Arnold Schwartznegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Lee, James Bond and anything Harrison Ford Does. They like Madonna, Drew Barrymore, The Cars, and the Beatles and have sold millions of their pirated CDs on Ackly. They love Star Trek! And Star Wars.)

I have a curse I know the truth! And now you do too, can you live with it?
I'm tired, I'm going to bed.

Below is an unauthorized copy of an entry in 4/23/94 Sgt Stryker Blog.
Read it and weep.
Sgt Stryker is one of the most responsible and even handed blogs today. I highly recomend this site as well as Dr. Donald Sensing's remarkable One Hand Clapping. Marvelous writing and skilled commentary on issues we all need to understand better.
Much of the internet is fluff, here's the real thing.

From: Sgt. Mom
Re: That Overlooked Sub-Culture

1. Arthur T. Hadley wrote of that “other America of defense” in his book “The Straw Giant”, a trenchant analysis of the DOD establishment published in the late 1980ies. Mr. Hadley, who had written on the military and defense matters since the early 1950ies, took as his starting point, a critique of the failed Iranian hostage rescue mission. He included a brief history of the Department of Defense by way of expiating on the strengths and weaknesses of the American military. As a denizen of the military at that time, although far below the pay grade and responsibilities of anyone who would have ever interacted with Mr. Hadley, many of his observations and conclusions were congruent with my own experiences. One of his most resonant observations was on the existence of what he called “the Great Divorce… the less-than-amiable separation of the military from the financial, business, political and intellectual elites of this country, particularly from the last two. Important sections of America regard those who serve in today’s armed forces as at best unwanted stepchildren at worse stepchildren not only unwanted but inclined to be vicious”.

2. The end of the draft--- near universal during World War 2, and Korea, which made military service a common experience for a large selection of the male population--- and the unpopularity of the Vietnam War, effectively put the military into a closet, as far as large chunks of American society was concerned, after 1970. Unless you were on active service yourself, or close to someone who was, or happened to live in an area with large military establishments, military personnel and our communities were unseen, invisible, unconsidered, a great swath of terra incognito. Military personnel did not appear in advertisements in main-line publications, or on television, or on television, except for M*A*S*H, safely set in the past. I recollect a gaggle of women clustered around a dayroom TV set, because there was a bit player on some detective drama, dressed as a member of the Air Force! It was a rare thrill, even if the Class-A uniform shirt was white, instead of regulation light blue. Except for the occasional potboiler techno or adventure paperback novel, there were no military heroes or veterans in popular literature, certainly not in the high culture stuff. A scattering of shaggy, freaked out Vietnam vets were sprinkled over a decade of television drama and news like rancid anchovies, but that was about it. Only the show “Magnum PI”, some fifteen years after the end of the Vietnam War presented fairly well adjusted and interesting veteran heroes.

3. And I enlisted in the middle of this vast disregard, to the horror of certain college friends who seemed to feel that being a $40 dollar whore with a heroin habit would socially have been slightly more respectable, and stepped through the magic mirror that separated America from the other America and curiously felt at home. I was in the America that kept that larger America safe, for those unknowing citizens to indulge themselves, to feel secure on their own shores, and to regard with faint disdain those whose hard work in uniform in odd and uncomfortable places made it possible for them to sleep safe at night. I didn’t do it for the gratitude, I did it for my family, and to keep safe those people I loved, and felt very well satisfied and rewarded in the life I had in that Other America of Defense.

4. And with the suddenness of a thunderclap on a September morning, things changed radically, and now we were all in another country, as has been written before. The magic mirror is shattered, and here we are all together. People who have never had to do so before are having to learn what those of us in the Other America of Defense learned in Basic Training; a whole new set of incomprehensible jargon and abbreviations, the names of strange bases and odd bits of equipment, military law and military ranks. The sons and daughters of people who would never even conceived of the military for their offspring are enlisting, or being commissioned, and now they are having to adjust to a whole new set of worries and fears.

5. It is a new and scary world for many of our strictly civilian readers, but I promise, it will be OK: I’ll explain as much as I can as we go along, and we’ll take as much care as we did before, in all those years when no one was paying attention at all.

My word on it

In the early 1960s it was fashionable to say the US was the great hope of enlightened civilization, the "Keeper of the Flame" in the face of barbaric, totalitarian Communism. The Soviet Union protested these insults and after a time the Kennedy Administration stopped the verbal attacks. LBJ never bothered to trash anyone, he was too busy suffering everyone trashing him! Over the years the red hot bombast of American patriotism faded. Until 911. For two years the fervor ran hot and now has started to cool. The flag still flies but not on every porch or in every yard. The Bush administration still cranks it up in southern states and rural districts, elsewhere, they let it be.

The insurgency in Iraq has not juiced up American bluster or set the administration on fore. Congress does not reverberate from loud speeches and proclamations of national ambition or vision.
We all know that the Iraqi war had very little to do with the march of Civilization and a lot to do with GW Bush and Richard Cheney. Their mono ambition to avenge the war of 1991 and set the world straighjt.
What we have today isa genuine rebellion based less on religion and a lot more on honest resentment of a clumsy occupation. The US has made a mess of Iraq.

All these stories of how successful we are in all sections except a few spots, and the effort to minimize Mr. Cedr is not convincing. We wanted liberation on the cheap and we think contract security guards like those at Blackwater can do the job. They can't and they won't.

The US had a vision for itself, not the Iraqis. We love freedom and consumer's. The Iraqis want order and decent prices and better services.
We equate freedom with materialism, the Iraqis do not.
The Bush Administration is set to abandon Iraq to some vague leader and then blame him for whatever goes wrong, just like Afghanistan.

In October 2004 the Bush Team will say the troubles in Iraq are not ours but that of a new government trying to define itself.
The Bush Administration will not allow the new regime to use brute force or torture, so the thugs will see the governments limitations and press right past them.

By 2006 Iraq will have a thug dictator propped up by religious nuts and corrupt businessmen and GW Bush will say "The Liberals are Carping!"
Iraq will not be liberated it never was. We junked Saddam Hussein and replaced him with a new even more savage thug.

Iraq is starting to fall apart. Little has anything to do with the US and a lot has to do with the long and bloody history of sectarian violence. Suni And Shi have been at each others throats for century's.
In Iran where popular resentment toward the Islamic Guardian Council, old men vs young men on the make. The Iranian government sees Iraq as a perfect foil for reform. The US has lost credibility with Iraqis as well as everyone else as Mr. Clarke and others reveal the dubious intent of the Bushies.
Gen Reynolds Blog Instapundit is the source of this article.

A coup d'etat is taking place in Iraq a the moment. Al-Shu'la, Al-Hurria,
Thawra (Sadr city), and Kadhimiya (all Shi'ite neighborhoods in Baghdad)
have been declared liberated from occupation. Looting has already started
at some places downtown, a friend of mine just returned from Sadun street
and he says Al-Mahdi militiamen are breaking stores and clinics open and
also at Tahrir square just across the river from the Green Zone. News from
other cities in the south indicate that Sadr followers (tens of thousands of
them) have taken over IP stations and governorate buildings in Kufa,
Nassiriya, Ammara, Kut, and Basrah. Al-Jazeera says that policemen in
these cities have sided with the Shia insurgents, which doesn't come as a
surprise to me since a large portion of the police forces in these areas were
recruited from Shi'ite militias and we have talked about that ages ago. And
it looks like this move has been planned a long time ago.
No one knows what is happening in the capital right now. Power has been
cut off in my neighborhood since the afternoon, and I can only hear
helicopters, massive explosions, and continuous shooting nearby. The
streets are empty, someone told us half an hour ago that Al-Mahdi are
trying to take over our neighborhood and are being met by resistance
from Sunni hardliners. Doors are locked, and AK-47's are being loaded and
put close by in case they are needed. The phone keeps ringing frantically.
Baghdadis are horrified and everyone seems to have made up their mind to
stay home tomorrow until the situation is clear.

Moqtada al-Sadr
Moqtada al-Sadr is the son of a revered Shi'ite Muslim cleric who, along with two other sons, was assassinated five years ago by the government of Saddam Hussein.
Thought to be about 30 years old, Moqtada al-Sadr is an advocate of strict Islamic law, Sharia, and an avowed enemy of Christianity, Israel and the West. Wednesday, U.S. authorities publicly linked him to the murder of a rival cleric last year and announced the existence of a warrant for his arrest.

Observers say the imam does not mention the word "democracy" in his sermons, and does not speak of living together with other ethnic or religious communities in post-war Iraq.

Since the ouster of Saddam and his Baathist government one year ago, the firebrand cleric has set himself apart from older Shi'ite leaders with virulent rhetoric aimed at the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council. He has also formed an armed militia, part of which currently surrounds and protects him at a mosque in the the central city of Kufa.

The brutish attack at Falluja, Iraq is no different from KKK terror in the Old South or LAPD thug night in LA. The brutes acted as they always do and the US must NEVER give in to them. Arrest those that you can, give them public trials and hang them not on the street in a carnival, but in a dark room at dawn with no witnesses, except God.
The British learned early that martyr's are real and they fuel causes like nothing else. Lonely execution after months in a dark cold cell eating rotten food and being totally ignored is a miserable was to exit this life. Think about it! Being in solitary for more than a few defiant days becomes the greatest deapare. Every self appointed revolutionary or freedom fighter thrives on collective enthusiasm! Silence is every mans greatest enemy. Even the recluse has a radio, or books, or maybe just the daily newspaper. When isolation is imposed it is hell.
The United States has to show that it has patience and will not run away.

This is NOT to say we must never show force. Burn a ten block by ten block area to the ground and then clear the ruins and pour asphalt and give them a big parking lot. Use force in a fashion that makes the other guy look like a misguided fool. Show them that we can be mean and make them squirm!

2
Howard Stern will be off the air in San Francisco and I assume elsewhere in about 30 days. This is an example of how a few loudmouths and preachers with money and votes can ruin a culture. Stern was there because people tuned in to him. If no one tuned in we'd not know the guy existed. The FCC is planning the seeds of it's own destruction. Michael Powell the FCC Chairman is less a moralist than a cynical crook. He sells himself to rightwing nuts and in time Congress and the general public will get fed up. If the liberals ran the country do you think Powell would refuse their money?
3
The decision that Dr. Condeleezza Rice will appear before the 9/11 commission is worthy but late. Why must the Bush White House seek a fight over every controversy? Lyndon Johnson meet privately with Congressional leaders all the time and he gave them credible answers to each question. Until 1967 he was very good about this. GW Bush NEVER meets with Congressional leaders except for photo ops. The animus between this administration is well known and selfdefeating. Dr. Rice can appear before any committee and protect confidential relationships all the same. The Bush team looks stubborn when it does not serve them and then when they co-operate they look weak and defeated. Bad attitudes lead to bad image.
